Drywall & plaster repair in Ashland, KY

Doorknob holes, anchor holes, cracks and dings patched, textured and primed so they disappear under paint.

Usually 2 short visits

What’s included

  • Holes up to about 12 inches across
  • Cracks in drywall or plaster
  • Nail pops and dented corners
  • Matching smooth, orange-peel or knockdown texture
  • Primer, and touch-up paint if you have the paint

Not included

  • Whole sheets or ceilings
  • Water damage, until the leak is fixed
  • Popcorn ceiling removal (older ceilings can contain asbestos)

Why it’s often two visits

Patching compound has to dry before it can be sanded and painted. Small patches can be done in one visit with quick-setting compound. Bigger ones need a second short visit, often the next evening, to sand, prime and paint.

Cracks in old plaster

Cracks in old plaster come back if you only fill them. I re-secure loose plaster, tape the crack with mesh, then skim over it. It takes longer, but it lasts.

Questions

Will I be able to see the patch?

On a flat or eggshell wall, a well-done patch disappears once it’s painted. Glossy paint shows everything, so on glossy walls I’ll suggest painting the whole wall corner to corner.

Do I need to match the paint?

If you have leftover paint, great. If not, a hardware store can match a chip I cut from a hidden spot.
